Identification of fiber is usually done
by using microscope, inorganic or/and organic reagents and burning
test. In order to make these professional tests into a simpler one,
we have developed a reagent that can easily identify the kind of fibered
material.
Unlike the other identification tests,“BOKENSTAIN” can be easily used. |

|
Procedure:
- Shake the bottle of BOKENSTAIN very well. Take 5ml from
the bottle of BOKENSTAIN and dilute it with 100ml of water
and pour them into a beaker.
- Heat the solution of BOKENSTAIN and water, then wait until
it boils.
- After boiling, put the test specimen within 1 gram into
the beaker, and wait for another 2 minutes.
- Next, immediately remove the test specimen from the beaker
and rinse it well with water.
- Squeeze and dry the test specimen at room temperature.
- Compare the shade of the test specimen with sample of
fibers attached the sheet.

Caution:
- Always dilute BOKENSTAIN by 100 times the gram of test
specimen when there is more than 1 gram.
ex. When testing for 3 grams of specimen take 15ml of BOKENSTAIN
and dilute it with 300ml of water.
- Do not add test specimen when solution is boiling. The
solution may overflow. Add test specimen before BOKENSTAIN
start boiling.
- The volume of test specimen within 1 gram in string is
about the size of a little finger.
- The reagent can be used only once.
- Keep BOKENSTAIN in cool and dark place.
- Deep colored specimen cannot be identified.
