SAC(Sustainable Apparel Coalition):Higg FEM(Higg Facility Environmental Module) Verification

Higg FEM is a module designed to assess the sustainability of the apparel and footwear manufacturing processes within the supply chain. It categorizes aspects related to environmental management systems, energy, water, wastewater, emissions, waste, and chemicals into seven distinct categories. Various questions are formulated for each of these seven categories, and as respondents answer them, they are required to upload supporting documents as evidence onto an online platform. Upon completion of all requested questions, a self-assessment score is generated.

In recent years, the significance of Higg FEM has increased, with its integration into the terms of trade with some global apparel and footwear brands. However, relying solely on self-assessment may lack objectivity, certainty, and reliability, leading to a growing demand for third-party verification.

Before third-party verification, facilities must complete the self-assessment of FEM. Subsequently, they need to purchase the verification module on the Worldly platform, select a verification body, and establish contact with the chosen verification body.

The duration and cost of third-party verification vary depending on the size of the facility and its processes and equipment (the presence of multiple environmental impact processes and facilities may increase the workload for verification). Please contact us for inquiries regarding the necessary days and costs for third-party verification.
